We are experiencing issues with the dMail authentication service.
Usernames and passwords are checked at sts.dundee.ac.uk before access is allowed. This is not currently working because the Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS) security certificates which secure communication between our authentication service and dMail servers hosted by Microsoft are not working. A new security certificate was added when the previous one expired but this does not seem to have been accepted by Microsoft.
Through our support partners we have escalated this issue to Microsoft support as a severity A problem, which is the highest priority, and provided them with the logs that they require.

The issue with accessing dMail is being treated as a very serious problem and we are engaging all necessary resources to fix it.
We apologise for the inconvenience that users are experiencing and we want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to restore service. We will update this page again later this afternoon.

We are continuing to work very closely with our third party suppliers, who have escalated resolving this issue to the highest possible level.
Mail is still being delivered to your account while you are unable to login.
We will provide another update in the afternoon.
9.07 – update
We are continuing to experience issues with authentication into dMail. The problem lies within authentication, rather than the dMail system itself.
We are continuing to work with our third party suppliers to resolve this as soon as we can.
18/07/12 – 17.02 update
We have identified the root cause of the issue, which is not an easy fix. Our technical staff will continue to work with our suppliers into the evening to try and restore services asap.

We are aware users are currently experiencing issues logging in to dMail.
Our technical staff are working to resolve this issue.
On Tuesday 24 July between 7.00 – 7.30 am there will be a short loss of network connectivity, lasting around 5 minutes, for our users on the Kirkcaldy campus.
During this time JANET UK will be moving the Kirkcaldy network connection to a new fibre link between Kirkcaldy and Dundee.
My Dundee will be unavailable while we perform system maintenance from Wednesday 18 July – Wednesday 25 July inclusive.

PECOS will be unavailable between 19.45 and 22.45 this evening (Wednesday 11 July), to allow changes to be made to the system by the supplier, Amor. The timing of this shutdown has been selected to minimise the impact on organisations and Amor apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
This network issue has now been resolved. Please contact Service Desk if you are still experiencing any difficulties with this service.
We are aware that users are unable to connect to external internet sites. Our technical teams are working to restore services.
2 July 9.50am
The relocation of the PECOS infrastructure from Boston, USA to Edinburgh was successfully completed over the weekend, and users can now log into the system.
We are aware of a local issue which results in approvers not receiving emails advising that orders are available to approve. ICS and the PECOS team are working together to resolve this issue, but in the meantime users should advise their approvers when an order is placed. The orders can be approved as normal by accessing the inbox.

The live PECOS infrastructure is being relocated from Boston, USA to the Scottish Government Data Centre in Edinburgh during the weekend of 29th June-1st July, 2012.
How will this affect me?
PECOS will be unavailable from 12:30pm on Friday 29th June 2012 and no purchase orders, amendments or receipts can be processed after this time. You will be unable to access the system and should not attempt to log in until you receive an email advising that it is available.
When will transactions appear in CODA?
The interface between PECOS and CODA will be switched off on the evening of Thursday 28th June 2012 and any transactions which occur following the final run of the interface on Thursday evening will be included in the first run of the interface on Monday 2nd July 2012.
