UoD IT Christmas and New Year closure – 4pm, 24th December 2013 until 8:45am, 6th January 2014

Between 4pm, Tuesday 24th December and 8:45am, 6th January 2014, UoD-IT will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holiday.  This includes our IT Service Desk within the Main Library building.

Setting up Office 365 email on mobile devices

Since the Office 365 upgrade, the settings for setting up email via POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP have changed.

We recommend that you use Exchange ActiveSync – select Microsoft Exchange as an email account on your phone and enter your username (without dots) and password to get mail, contacts, tasks and calendar.

LLC Library system migration – 7 & 8 January 2014

From 5pm on Tuesday 7 January to  5pm on Wednesday 8 January we will be migrating the Library management system to new infrastructure.

This work is necessary to continue receiving vendor support and will benefit our maintenance procedures.

During the migration self-service issue and return will be unavailable at library sites. LLC staff will be operating manual issue procedures for staff and students.

 

UoD IT afternoon closure – 19th December – 12:45 – 5:00 – request for support

On Thursday 19th December, between 12:45-5:00pm, UoD-IT will be closed for a staff Christmas lunch.

Office 365 Issue for Mac Users

Update from Microsoft – 11/12/2013

Microsoft is continuing to work towards resolving an issue in which some customers using Mac Outlook or Entourage may be unable to send messages exceeding a size of 6 megabytes. An update to the latest build is being performed to remediate impact. Engineers have completed the deployment for over 90% of customers and expect to finish all deployment within the next 12-17 hours. The next update will be provided by December 11, 2013 at 6:00 PM UTC, or upon service restoration.
