Student accommodation network changes

A planned maintenance window has been agreed to allow the team to do work on the University’s student accommodation network. Changes to the wired connection will be made on Tue 28 Feb from 07:00-09:00.

What impact will this have?
You may experience intermittent internet connection issues if using the wired network within the work window in your student accommodation.

What are the benefits?
Once complete, your wired internet traffic will be passed through the new perimeter firewall, which means your online experience will have added security and quicker throughput.

Future maintenance
More work is scheduled to take place on the student accommodation wireless connection on Tue 07 Mar. This work window will be communicated separately because other University locations such as DUSA, Tower, Dalhousie, Tower, OTI, Park Place and the Main Library will also be impacted.

Issues Logging In

We have received reports of users having difficulty logging in this morning, users are receiving the following message

“you cannot log on because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer. contact your adminsitrator”

This issue is currently being investigated.

UPDATE: 10.18 This issue is now resolved. If you are affected by this issue please shutdown and restart your PC

PECOS System Down

Users are experiencing ‘this page cannot be displayed’ when trying to access the PECOS login page.

The issue is being looked at as a matter of urgency with UoDIT and 3rd Party support.

Updates will be posted here when available.


RESOLVED We have received confirmation from 3rd Party support that the PECOS access issue is now resolved and users should be able to access the login page and navigate as normal.

University Timetabling and RoomBooking Website Down

There are issues with the University Timetabling / Roombooking website at the moment. The website is reporting that the page is not responding and roombooking is not allowing logins.

A UoDIT team are investigating the issue at the moment.

UPDATE: (3.39pm) Timetables website is now back up and functioning again but roombookings is still denying logins. We are now focusing our attention on this service.

UPDATE: (3.59pm) Roombooking website is now back up and functioning again.

All services restored.

Staff Printing Issue – RESOLVED

There have been reports that staff printing is down in a few areas across campus.

Areas affected are DJCAD, Kirkcaldy, Tower Building and Scrymgeour.

UoDIT is looking into this issue at the moment.
