Month: October 2019

Scheduled Maintenance: Informatics platforms (Life Sciences)

Please note, from 17:00 BST Friday 11/10/19, a series of upgrades to our informatics platforms will be taking place, and are expected to be unavailable until midday Monday 14/10/19.

Affected services include:

  • Dotmatics
  • ActivityBase
  • Pipeline Pilot

The maintenance involves migrating a database, so any changes made to the existing database after 17:00 will not be carried over to the new instance. The database is going to be made inaccessible so you may have issues doing anything that involves it after 17:00, i.e. anything involving the systems listed above. Access to shared areas will not be affected.

Affected staff will be notified once the maintenance is complete, please do not create experiments, start abase analysis, complete or uncomplete testsets, etc. until this is confirmed as ready for use.

Service Disruption: Internet Access for Life Science Users

A recent Cyber Essentials security scan highlighted that we needed to make an emergency change (C1910-006) to the DNS settings for Life Science authenticated users. Unfortunately, this change resulted in the loss of Internet access for Life Science users. The team worked through the issues as quickly as possible and restored service at 09:45.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this emergency change.
