To allow Service Desk staff to be updated and trained on new developments in our department, and across the University, Service Desk will be closed from 9.30 to 10.30 every Friday morning from Friday 6 September.
By ensuring our staff are kept informed and have an opportunity to discuss projects, policies and procedures, we can offer an improved service at first level and provide you with the latest information.
You can still log calls during this period by:
- Visiting Service Desk at Main Library,which will be staffed.
- Sending an email to email@example.com.
- Logging on to self-service at http://servicedesk.dundee.ac.uk and completing the online form – you an also check the progress of any existing calls.
- Leaving a voicemail, and we will get back to you.
All staff and students are encouraged to log IT calls with Help4U, our self-service portal. As well as being able to log incidents and service requests 24/7, you can now check the progress of your calls online.
Visit www.dundee.ac.uk/help4u , click on the link to self-service and login with your standard username and password.
Within the self-service portal you can also search our growing Knowledge Base for articles that will help you with common queries and known issues.

Users will notice that the notifications that they receive from Service Desk will be different this morning. We have updated our notification emails to prepare for the rollout of our self-service portal, which be tried out by Local Analysts and Local Support Contacts very soon.

The popularity of the ICS Status page has seen it evolve into a key resource for communicating with our users about ongoing service issues and planned maintenance. The page has been given a well-deserved revamp and is now powered by WordPress.

All requests for assistance should continue to be directed to ICS Service Desk so they can be logged and tracked. As with all ICS service developments, we would welcome feedback on the new Status page and Twitter feed via the Service Desk.
