Resolved – No 43601: Loss of internet connectivity

This network issue has now been resolved. Please contact Service Desk if you are still experiencing any difficulties with this service.


We are aware that users are unable to connect to external internet sites. Our technical teams are working to restore services.

Update:Relocation of PECOS infrastructure-29 June to 1 July

2 July 9.50am

The relocation of the PECOS infrastructure from Boston, USA to Edinburgh was successfully completed over the weekend, and users can now log into the system.

We are aware of a local issue which results in approvers not receiving emails advising that orders are available to approve.  ICS and the PECOS team are working together to resolve this issue, but in the meantime users should advise their approvers when an order is placed.  The orders can be approved as normal by accessing the inbox.

The live PECOS infrastructure is being relocated from Boston, USA to the Scottish Government Data Centre in Edinburgh during the weekend of 29th June-1st July, 2012.

How will this affect me?

PECOS will be unavailable from 12:30pm on Friday 29th June 2012 and no purchase orders, amendments or receipts can be processed after this time.  You will be unable to access the system and should not attempt to log in until you receive an email advising that it is available.

When will transactions appear in CODA?

The interface between PECOS and CODA will be switched off on the evening of Thursday 28th June 2012 and any transactions which occur following the final run of the interface on Thursday evening will be included in the first run of the interface on Monday 2nd July 2012.

Update:LANDesk downtime from 11.30am today (Wed 27 June)

Problems with the upgrade have now been fixed and LANDesk is up and running. Please report any errors to Service Desk.


Further to the upgrade to LANDesk last night, an issue has arisen which needs fixed as soon as possible. This involves taking LANDesk offline at 11.30am today. The repair is likely to take around two hours but may take longer.

Updates and notifications will be queued and processed once LANDesk is back online.  We suggest that any new incidents should be logged via the Service Desk online form.

Resolved: CMS Upgrade – Tuesday 26 June 9.00-12.30

The CMS login issue is now resolved.  Staff can login as normal and the web team will review the upgrade to ensure everything is working as normal.


The CMS upgrade is taking longer to complete than was initially anticipated. We are continuing to work on the upgrade and will post an update when it becomes available.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay.


On Tuesday 26 June, between 9.00 and 12.30, users will not be able to access the T4 Content Management System (CMS) due to a system upgrade. The upgrade will include bug fixes and new functionality. Any further updates will be posted on ICS Status.

We have restored access to SOMIS by restarting the server.

Planned maintenance: External firewall

One of our external firewalls has developed a fault and requires a replacement part

 Installation is scheduled for Tuesday 19th June between 09:30 and 09.45.

In the meantime our firewall continues to operate, with reduced resilience, and although service users should not experience any issues, access to internet services including email should be considered at increased risk.
