My Dundee and Safe Assign

My Dundee Downtime

My Dundee will be unavailable between 09:00 – 09:20 next Tuesday morning (04th October).

This is required for urgent maintenance. Unfortunately the nature of the work requires it to be performed during standard work hours.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Safe Assign

Our Safe Assign vendor has reported some performance issues around their service.

When using the service, please be patient when waiting for submissions to go through etc. This is due to ‘unprecedented’ traffic on our suppliers servers.

You can contact elearning@dundee.ac.uk with any questions and report any errors to help4u@dundee.ac.uk.

My Dundee unavailable this weekend due to upgrade

Blackboard is now available for use (Sunday 10th 6.30pm)

Please be aware that we are upgrading My Dundee (Blackboard) this weekend, making the platform unavailable to students, staff and applicants.

Please ensure you download any learning resources you may need over this period before the start date of the change.

Why are we upgrading?
To ensure the platform remains in support and resolve outstanding issues with Forums/Discussions, Blogs and uploading ZIP files. In-demand new features that improve integration, Student preview, Grading, video and Portfolios will also be had.

Why on this date?
As with any change which renders a core University system unavailable, selecting a suitable time period to undertake the work is difficult. These dates were selected to minimise impact on staff and students, as well as to avoid overlap with examinations.

The platform be taken offline at 18:00 on Friday 08th January, to ensure ample time is given for the maintenance. Normal service should be resumed by Monday 11th January.

My Dundee unavailable between 08-10th January 2016

My Dundee (Blackboard) will be unavailable from Friday 08th (from 18:00) – Sunday 10th January 2016 while our technical team perform an essential upgrade to the platform. Normal service should be resumed on Monday 11th January.

My Dundee Maintenance Update

UoD-IT and the Library and Learning Centre (LLC) have successfully completed the necessary elements of work that require downtime on My Dundee and its supporting infrastructure. My Dundee is now available ahead of schedule but users should consider the service ‘at risk’ as other work is still ongoing and final testing is being carried out.

My Dundee has not undergone any functional upgrades so users should not notice any changes to the interface. The maintenance downtime has allowed for behind the scenes supporting software updates, security patching and storage improvements to be carried out.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
